  107. . This linking is achieved using a component of the Frame Development Kit called the 
  108. +Frame Application Program Interface (API).

  126. KCommand that opens a new Element Definition document. Use this document to  on
  127. Ncreate new element definitions that can be compiled into an Element Catalog. 
  128. LWhen it opens, the Element Definition document is untitled. It contains one  F
  129. Mhighest level element and a version number. The highest level element has an 
  130. empty definition.

  133. Structure menu > Import EDD
  134. JDialog box where you can choose an Element Definition document and import 
  135. Pits definitions into the current document. This procedure creates a new Element 
  136. <Catalog in the document from which you chose this command. 
  137. QIf you import the definitions into an existing document, FrameBuilder creates an 
  138. KElement Catalog that replaces the current Catalog. Elements already in the tio
  139. Odocument are updated to match the definitions in the new catalog. Any elements com
  140. Iin the document that are not defined in the new catalog will be invalid.
  141. NYou can also import element definitions directly from one structured document 
  142. Einto another, without using an Element Definition document. For more

  150. JCommand that generates a new Element Definition document from the current 
  151. LElement Catalog. The Element Definition document describes all the elements 
  152. Jthat are in the Element Catalog of the document from which you chose this

  157. MCommand that displays information about the current element in an alert box. 
  158. NThe alert box shows the format rule that is in effect, and the context of the 
  159. current element.
  160. PThe format rule of an element specifies what format tag to apply to an element. ch
  161. RThe format rule can apply different tags to an element, depending on its location 
  162. in relation to other elements.
  163. MThe context of an element is its ancestry. In other words, context shows the e
  164. Qcurrent element
  165. s parent, the parent of that parent, and so on up to the highest l
  166. level element in the flow.

  177. NFrameBuilder uses the rule table to match elements to document objects. Every 
  178. Qobject in your document that matches an element listed in the rule table will be
